Bonus hunting, explained honestly
The streamer strategy that looks like a system. Is it?
By Sam Brody · 8 September 2026 · 8 min read
A "bonus hunt" means playing many different slots until each one triggers its bonus, saving them all, then opening them one by one. It makes for great entertainment on stream.
Does it improve your odds?
No. Each game's RTP is the same whether you open the bonus immediately or an hour later. The hunt format changes the experience, not the expected return.
Why streamers do it
It creates suspense and a natural story arc for a broadcast — and many big streamers play with bankrolls (and deals) ordinary players don't have.
If you want to try it
Set a fixed budget for the whole hunt, pick games with high published RTP, and track your real results in a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet tends to be very educational.
